"Mirrors"

Another night,
The same old story,
The morning brings shame,
Will nothing ever change?

Looking in the mirror,
I'm ashamed at who looks back,
Where did this all go wrong?
When did I go off track?

And now I'm calling out your name,
To take away this pain,
As I drown in my shame,
I am the only one to blame.

Regret haunts me,
Every waking hour,
I must do all in my power,
To change.

All this talk of moving forward,
As I take a single step back,
If only I could scream out,
So that I may be heard.

Looking in the mirror,
I'm ashamed at who looks back,
Where did this all go wrong?
When did I go off track?

And now I'm calling out your name,
To take away this pain,
As I drown in my shame,
I am the only one to blame.

Looking in the mirror,
I'm ashamed at who looks back,
And as this mirror falls from my hands,
My past follows suit.

Shattered,
Broken,
Into a million pieces,
I call out your name.

Another night,
The same old story,
The morning brings shame,
Will nothing ever change?

And now I'm calling out your name,
To take away this pain,
As I drown in my shame,
I am the only one to blame.

"One Summer Sunset"

This is a song that wrote after listening and being inspired by the band Low Level Flight. This is not my usual writing style but I feel that it is good to branch out. Personally, this is one of my favourite songs that I have ever written and I hope you enjoy it. Feel free to tell me what you think in the comments, thanks!

"One Summer Sunset"

The smell of bon-fires and old cigars,
Days when we would drive just to lose track of time,
The final sunset of summer is upon us,
In the fading light we lose our lives.

We used to be about loud music and dancing the night away,
Now all we are is paying bills and crushing our dreams.
No, you won't find me complaining,
For all good things must come to an end- all the same,

I still long for those days,
Which I would waste looking in your eyes,
And nights where we would forget all our troubles,
Filled with teary eyes and blurry goodbyes.

We were just being kids,
Laughing as we danced in the rain,
Now as I grow up my only wish,
Is that it washes away my pain.

I long to see in colour,
The days of our youth,
For I've seen in black and white,
For far to long- it's time to move.

Call me desperate- call me insane,
For chasing my past,
No longer do I live my life,
As I now live behind a mask.

I still long for those days,
Which I would waste looking in your eyes,
And nights where we would forget all our troubles,
Filled with teary eyes and blurry goodbyes.

Memorials of friends long forgotten,
I stumble upon now and then,
Some lived life to the fullest- others wasted away,
Friends, we do not break although we bend.

No, you won't find me complaining,
For all good things must come to an end- all the same.

I still long for those days,
Which I would waste looking in your eyes,
And nights where we would forget all our troubles,
Filled with teary eyes and blurry goodbyes.

The smell of bon-fires and old cigars,
Days when we would drive just to lose track of time,
The final sunset of summer is upon us,
In the fading light we lose our lives.
